Miniatures
I began drawing miniatures purely by chance. In 2015, on a trip, at 5 o’clock in the morning, because I wake up early, I needed something to occupy my time; I no longer had a book, so I took a sketchbook, pencils and pens, with the intention of making sketches for my future paintings. But, image after image, the drawing became more and more interesting: it began to take shape as a composition, and I started to enjoy it all. Later, once I was back home and looked at these sketches with fresh eyes, I thought it was necessary to finish them. So I added colours and did the final touches.
So I began drawing miniatures—that is what I call them.
On the other hand, I noticed that when I paint a small miniature, at the same time a large image appears in my mind. And now, I cannot do without it, because it is so easy to work on a small format; especially when there is little light or the weather is bad, with artificial light you can draw miniatures, because they are so undemanding. So now I first make a small painting and then a large painting in which, naturally, many more details are added.
And as for themes, you simply need to be a little more attentive for them to come to mind.
