The World of Mineralogy and Fossils inspired me for this series is that I came across it by chance thanks to my companion Michel Lavergne. He discovered the existence of mineralogy for me. We went to excavations in different countries, it’s surprisingly interesting, especially when you find stones or fossils themselves, which are already millions or even more years old. At mineralogy exhibitions I was fascinated by minerals, created by nature, but also by fossils of various animals and plants. I thought how strange it is, they are no longer there and there is still a trace of them, and what will be left after us?<\/p>\n

But the discovery for me was that some of them still live to this day. I won’t list everyone, my favourite is the Nautilus<\/a>. I managed to see one of these animals in the Barcelona Oceanarium. This amazing creature has managed to survive for so long, about 450 million years, almost unchanged. One of the surviving crustaceans from the age of the dinosaurs: Living Fossil. Nautilus is also a symbol of inner beauty in nature. The shell is one of the famous natural objects that synchronise the golden number – the PHI number<\/a>.<\/p>\n Its uniqueness is found in all organic structures. I am attracted by the outer beauty of things and their complexities, not by mathematical and geometrical calculations. I am more interested in life as development and change, as beginning and end. In my works, Nautilus symbolises a window into the past and also water, water being one of the elements in the creation of the world.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row for the creation of life. Earth, Wind, Water and Fire, from this chaos, from their intertwining and mixing, life was created.<\/p>\n I needed to find a way and create a new technique, at the same time I wanted to be faithful to the drawing, I work with paper first. On different sheets of paper I draw the main images, the figures, then I cut with scissors or a scalpel or I simply tear the necessary places into pieces with my hands. Since the clay is a base, it is multi-layered, this effect is achieved by gluing paper in a few layers. I use gypsum to create a relief of the ground and stones; the symbols of Air and Fire are present in the work in the form of Plexiglas. I break the Plexiglas into the necessary pieces and in some places I burn it with fire. Plexiglas is also the base of the painting and holds the whole composition, it gives transparency and weightlessness at the same time. Water is represented by fossils and shells. All together they create a picture in which you will find elements of the past, in the form of bone remains and fossils, and the present in the form of living beings. Since the present cannot exist without the past, and the future cannot be created without the present.<\/p>\n Don’t look for realism in my works, however, this is not the case.<\/p>\n I draw my vision Sans surprise, les scientifiques du monde entier n\u2019ont pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 y r\u00e9pondre. Tout le monde parle de quatre \u00e9l\u00e9ments.<\/p> Le Monde de la min\u00e9ralogie et des fossiles m\u2019a inspir\u00e9 pour cette s\u00e9rie c\u2019est que j\u2019y suis tomb\u00e9e par hasard gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 mon compagnon Michel Lavergne. Il a d\u00e9couvert l\u2019existence de la min\u00e9ralogie pour moi. Nous sommes all\u00e9s \u00e0 des fouilles dans diff\u00e9rents pays, c\u2019est \u00e9tonnamment int\u00e9ressant, surtout quand on trouve des pierres ou des fossiles eux-m\u00eames, qui ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 des millions voire plus d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Lors d\u2019expositions sur la min\u00e9ralogie, j\u2019\u00e9tais fascin\u00e9e par les min\u00e9raux, cr\u00e9\u00e9s par la nature, mais aussi par les fossiles de divers animaux et plantes. Je ne listerai pas tout le monde, mon exemplaire pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 est le Nautilus<\/a>. J\u2019ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 voir un de ces animaux dans l\u2019Oc\u00e9anarium de Barcelone<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0Cette cr\u00e9ature \u00e9tonnante a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 survivre pendant si longtemps, environ 450 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es, presque inchang\u00e9es. L\u2019un des crustac\u00e9s survivants de l\u2019\u00e9poque des dinosaures\u00a0: Living Fossil<\/a>.\u00a0Nautilus est \u00e9galement un symbole de beaut\u00e9 int\u00e9rieure dans la nature. La coquille est l\u2019un des objets naturels c\u00e9l\u00e8bres qui synchronisent le nombre d\u2019or - le nombre PHI<\/a>.<\/p> Sa particularit\u00e9 se trouve dans toutes les structures organiques. Je suis attir\u00e9e par la beaut\u00e9 ext\u00e9rieure des choses et par leurs complexit\u00e9s, et non par le calcul math\u00e9matique et g\u00e9om\u00e9trique. Je m\u2019int\u00e9resse davantage \u00e0 la vie comme d\u00e9veloppement et changement, comme d\u00e9but et fin. La Terre, Le Vent, L\u2019eau, et Le Feu, de ce chaos, de leur entrelacement et leur m\u00e9lange, la vie a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9.<\/p> J\u2019avais besoin de trouver un moyen et cr\u00e9er une nouvelle technique, en m\u00eame temps je voulais \u00eatre fid\u00e8le au dessin, je travaille d\u2019abord avec du papier. Sur diff\u00e9rentes feuilles de papier, je dessine les images principales, les figures, puis je coupe avec des ciseaux ou avec un scalpel ou je d\u00e9chire tout simplement avec mes mains les endroits n\u00e9cessaires en morceaux. Puisque la terre est une base, elle est multicouche, cet effet est obtenu en collant du papier en quelques couches. J\u2019utilise du gypse pour cr\u00e9er un relief du sol et des pierres\u00a0; Les symboles de l\u2019Air et du Feu sont pr\u00e9sents dans l\u2019\u0153uvre sous forme de plexiglas.\u00a0 Je casse le plexiglas en morceaux n\u00e9cessaires et dans des endroits je le br\u00fble par le feu. Le plexiglas est aussi la base du tableau et tient toute la composition, il donne en m\u00eame temps la transparence et l\u2019apesanteur. L\u2019eau est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par des fossiles et des coquillages. Tous ensemble cr\u00e9ent une image dans laquelle vous trouverez des \u00e9l\u00e9ments du pass\u00e9, sous forme de restes d\u2019os et de fossiles, et le pr\u00e9sent sous forme d\u2019\u00eatres vivants.
